Job DescriptionÂ
Loading and unloading customer freight as it arrives or is shipped is one of the primary responsibilities. Furthermore, the chosen candidate will be expected to consolidate LTL trailers effectively for inter-terminal movements, operate forklifts, trucks, and/or tow motors, complete daily logs, verify freight and compare to unloading reports and/or Bill of Lading, assist with inventory, and clean and maintain the work area in accordance with safety protocols.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Basic arithmetic abilities.
- Manual dexterity is essential for machine operation.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Timely and well-organized.
- Works well in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting.
- Team player that works hard and is dependable.
- Capable of learning rapidly and working efficiently.
- Flexible availability (shifts are available during the day, evenings, nights, and weekends).
Education & Experience Required
- Minimum educational requirement: completion of grade 10 or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse experience of at least one year is required.
- Valid forklift certification and/or other relevant certification.
- Hazardous material training/certification is advantageous.
