This scholarship is the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships And Educational Exchanges For Development. SEED is now available for students in 2022 between Canada and ASEAN member countries. The scholarship is for postgraduate-level programs at Canadian universities. The Government of Canada announced the program on August 6, 2017. It gives ASEAN students the chance to research Canadian post-secondary institutions. These areas help with the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Scholarships for Canada-ASEAN countries help poor people get out of poverty. It also helps meet the goals set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Further, many people will get scholarships and go on educational trips. So, they can meet all the Sustainable Development Goals.Â
Roles
Canadian Universities should:
- First, rank applications based on the priorities of the school.
- Submit applications on behalf of qualified people.
- Sign a Contribution Agreement with the DFATD. Then, give the money to the scholarship winners.
- Also, encourage academics and employees to apply for the scholarship.
- Appoint a single person to be in charge of application submissions.
- During the scholarship time, submit qualitative and quantitative reports.
Interested candidates for scholarships for Canada-ASEAN countries should:
- First, make their intentions clear to their home school.
- Then, find out if their home school has a collaboration or exchange agreement in place.
- Also, make sure they meet the requirements.
- Lastly, request information about the application procedure to the Canadian partner institution.
Post-secondary institutions in ASEAN countries should:
- First, encourage their overseas offices to publicize this scholarship opportunity.
- Contact with Canadian partner institutions to confirm institutional collaborations.

Benefits of Scholarships for Canada-ASEAN Countries
- CAD 10,200 for college, undergraduate, and graduate students who want to study or do research. This will last for four months or one academic term.
- CAD 12,700 for students who want to study or do research for five to six months.
- CAD 15,900 for students who want to study or do research for eight months or two academic terms.
Eligibility for Scholarships for Canada-ASEAN Countries
- Citizens of an ASEAN member state should be able to do these things.
- When applying for an exchange, students must be full-time students at a post-secondary institution in an eligible country.
- They must also pay tuition fees to that institution when they apply, and they’re there the whole time.
Note
Applicants are not eligible if:
- First, they have applied for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
- They are currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution’s degree.
- Also, they are already enrolled in a Government of Canada-funded scholarship program.
- And they have already obtained a Canada-ASEAN SEED scholarship.
Eligibility for Canadian Post-Secondary Institution
They must:
- First, have a legitimate student exchange arrangement in place with the candidate’s home university.
- Communicate any obligatory fees with the institution and the candidate.
- Become a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
Expenses
The funding from the scholarship should be utilized for:
- Visa or work permit fee.
- Utilities, food, ground transportation, including a public transportation pass.
- DFATD will provide funding to the Canadian university in the form of a contribution agreement, and
- According to its internal standards, the Canadian institution will disburse monies to scholarship applicants.
Application Process
The Canadian institution sends candidates’ applications on their behalf. However, for Canadian universities to start the online application process, they should read the instructions carefully.
Institutions must:
1) For each candidate, fill out an online application.
- Institutions that do not already have an account must first create one.
- Once the institution has logged into its account, it should go to the “For Non-Canadians” area and click Apply.
- Now to apply for the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development.
- Institutions can save and finish applications at a later time. Both saved and submitted applications would appear on the institution’s profile homepage.
2) Fill in the required fields and follow the instructions for each item.
- The candidate’s name must be identical to the name on their passport.
3) they must upload all needed supporting documents.
4) Before submitting the data, double-check it.
5) SUBMIT is the final step. Once the form is submitted, the institution will receive a confirmation message with a reference number.
6) Lastly, print the form for their records using the browser’s print function.
Documents
For the application to upload successfully, each document must be less than 5 MB and in the following formats:.pdf,.jpg,.doc,.docx,.txt, or.gif. Institutions must guarantee that documents are correct and complete according to the requirements. A translation of any document written in a language other than English or French is required.
