The UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office funds the Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships (FCDO). They give this scholarship to people who want to be better. Each scholarship offers:

  • First, an approved round-trip back to your home country at the end of your award.
  • Then, £1,133 monthly for students living in the London metropolitan area. Also, £1,390 per month for students living outside of London.
  • Approved tuition fees.
  • Also, they cover the costs of study-related trips inside or outside of the United Kingdom. You can get a grant from your school or government.
  • £1,133 per month for students who go to schools in the London metropolitan area. And £1,390 per month for those who go to schools outside of London.
  • An allowance for warm clothes, if it’s possible.
  • Further, there is a child allowance for single or widowed parents who have a child under 16 years old. If you are with your kids and live with you, you get £485 per month for the first child. Also, you get £120 per month for the second and third children under 16.

Eligibility for the Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships

  • First, you can’t afford the study in the UK without a scholarship.
  • Then, you have to be a British Protected Person or a citizen of a country in the Commonwealth that is a refugee.
  • You must live in a Commonwealth country that meets the requirements.
  • When your scholarship starts, you must be in a Ph.D. program in a Commonwealth country university.
  • Also, your home university and the UK university you want to go to have a departmental affiliation, and this must be more than a one-on-one collaboration. Your supervisors must write a statement that includes more information about the link to make sure your application is valid.
  • Lastly, have a first degree with an upper second class (2:1) honors grade or a second-class degree with an appropriate postgraduate diploma by September 2022.

Application Method for Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships

Applicants for CSC-funded part-time programs should apply to UK universities. Participation in part-funding agreements is up to the individual colleges. However, a list of universities in the United Kingdom that have agreed to sponsor Commonwealth Scholarships partially may be found on the CSC website under the heading “UK universities with part funding agreements.” To apply to the CSC, you must do so through the CSC’s website. However, there will be no acceptance of any submissions not submitted using the CSC’s online application system. They’re now accepting applications, and the deadline is Thursday, February 17th at 18:00. At 18:00 on Tuesday, March 8th, you must submit all references and declarations of support.

The scholars will be provided with round-trip flights from their native country to the United Kingdom and back. They will be reimbursed for their tuition and examination fees. Also, they will get a monthly living allowance/stipend of GBP 1084 for students in the London metropolitan area and GBP 1330 for students in the rest of the UK.

The Canadian Space Agency does not require applicants to take the IELTS test. However, your selected degree program may need it.

  1. Is there an age limit?

There is no age limit. However, applicants should have earned a Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree in the topic or associated subjects with a minimum of 65 percent marks.

  1. Can I work in the UK after the scholarship?

Only if you want to advance from Master’s to Ph.D. study will the CSC consider a request to extend your leave to remain in the UK after your award. However, there will be strict guidelines in place, and the CSC cannot give you a letter of permission to stay in the UK after receiving your award for you to work.
