Job Description
The forklift operator’s job is to carry out inventory-related operations in the warehouse of United Restaurant Supplies in order to support our order selectors and receivers. We are seeking a creative individual that thrives in a team setting but is equally at ease working independently when necessary. This person will be tasked with developing a growth strategy from the ground up and carrying out our bold objectives.
- Inventory-related responsibilities include restocking stock to pick levels, storing merchandise in reserve racks, documenting shrinkage and damages, and confirming it.
- Navigating the warehouse with the aid of powered material handling equipment to transport goods on pallets.
- Narrow aisle reach trucks are frequently used to physically carry cargo within the warehouse. Cases of goods are occasionally lifted onto pallets.
- Case weights range from 1 lb to 90 lbs, with an average weight of 25–30 lbs.
- Follow the organization’s core principles, appropriate practices, and mission statement.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Take pleasure in creating top-notch craftsmanship to meet the needs of our customers.
- Clean up the space at the end of each shift.
- 9.00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday (Proposed)
Job Requirements
- Experience operating a HiLo forklift for at least two to three years is necessary, preferably in a busy warehouse.
- Strong organizational skills are a must. Being mechanically inclined is a plus.
- You must want to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- You must be able to work flexible hours and weekends when necessary.
- You must be able to lift up to 90 pounds, but your typical lifting weight should be between 25 and 30 pounds.
- High levels of attentiveness and concentration are necessary.
- Must be in good physical condition, love manual labor, and be able to work in the warehouse’s grocery section at room temperature, which can range from freezing in the winter to warm in the summer.
