The scholarship is for postgraduate-level programs at Canadian universities. The Government of Canada announced the program on August 6, 2017. It gives ASEAN students the chance to research Canadian post-secondary institutions. These areas help with the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.   • Appoint a single person to be in charge of application submissions.

DFATD will give money to the Canadian university for each successful candidate. The Canadian university will then pay the money to the scholarship recipients.
The value of a scholarship changes based on how long and how much you study:
  • CAD 10,200 for college, undergraduate, and graduate students who want to study or do research. This will last for four months or one academic term.
  • CAD 12,700 for students who want to study or do research for five to six months.
  • CAD 15,900 for students who want to study or do research for eight months or two academic terms.
As a bonus, each scholarship recipient will get CAD 500 from the host institution in Canada. This money will help with administrative costs after the awardee arrives in Canada. However, in some cases, Canadian universities can get back extra fees paid to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada by employers.

  • And they have already obtained a Canada-ASEAN SEED scholarship.

  • Communicate any obligatory fees with the institution and the candidate.
  • Become a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).

Expenses

The funding from the scholarship should be utilized for:

  • Visa or work permit fee.
  • Utilities, food, ground transportation, including a public transportation pass.
  • DFATD will provide funding to the Canadian university in the form of a contribution agreement, and
  • According to its internal standards, the Canadian institution will disburse monies to scholarship applicants.

Application Process

The Canadian institution sends candidates’ applications on their behalf. However, for Canadian universities to start the online application process, they should read the instructions carefully.

Institutions must:

1) For each candidate, fill out an online application.

  • Institutions that do not already have an account must first create one.
  • Once the institution has logged into its account, it should go to the “For Non-Canadians” area and click Apply.
  • Now to apply for the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development.
  • Institutions can save and finish applications at a later time. Both saved and submitted applications would appear on the institution’s profile homepage.

2) Fill in the required fields and follow the instructions for each item.

  • The candidate’s name must be identical to the name on their passport.

3) they must upload all needed supporting documents.

4) Before submitting the data, double-check it.
5) SUBMIT is the final step. Once the form is submitted, the institution will receive a confirmation message with a reference number.
6) Lastly, print the form for their records using the browser’s print function.

Documents

For the application to upload successfully, each document must be less than 5 MB and in the following formats:.pdf,.jpg,.doc,.docx,.txt, or.gif. Institutions must guarantee that documents are correct and complete according to the requirements. A translation of any document written in a language other than English or French is required.
