Job Description

Protenergy Natural Foods Corp., a fully integrated maker of natural food and beverage products, currently has an opening for a Shipper & Receiver position at its Richmond Hill location. This position, which reports directly to the Production Supervisor, requires the incumbent to work 12 hour continental shifts with the ability to work both day and night shifts.

  • Using a forklift to transport, locate, relocate, stack, and count goods.
  • Maintain accountability for the safe and effective functioning of the forklift.
  • Inspect forklifts on a daily basis and report any modifications or concerns to the Production Team Leader.
  • Unloading inbound shipments safely and transporting product to storage locations.
  • Stack and store the products in the proper areas.
  • Ensuring that inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; reporting quality discrepancies where applicable.
  • Keeping accurate records and reports to ensure strict inventory management and security.
  • Assisting with physical inventories.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Make a Bill of Lading as needed.
  • Inspect trailers, raw materials, and finished items for defective products and/or ingredients.
  • Collaborate with external warehouses to organize product returns and inbound deliveries.
  • As needed, attend shift changeover meetings.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work environment is your responsibility.
  • Ensure that operations are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS regulations.

Minimum requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • Completion of a forklift training certificate 3-5 years manufacturing related experience
  • Completion of WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods is a plus.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced atmosphere and meeting rotating deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good manufacturing processes knowledge.
  • Oral and written English fluency.

Note – Protenergy Natural Foods operates a continental shift rotational environment that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shifts are 12 hours long, from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (days) or from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. (nights). We maintain a 2-3 rotation in which you will work seven days in fourteen calendar days, with every other weekend being a long weekend.
