Job DescriptionÂ
Dishwashing and maintaining kitchen hygiene are responsibilities. Maintaining a positive business image via courteous, professional, and efficient customer and Team Member service is critical in all Whole Foods Market Retail responsibilities. All positions must follow the team and shop SOPs. Team members should also be prepared to do responsibilities described in other job descriptions. Additionally, every function must match with WFM core values and objectives, support national, regional, and store programs, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including Food Safety and department-specific regulatory duties.
- Dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares are cleaned, rinsed, and sanitized.
- Keeps the kitchen’s floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves clean.
- Assists with kitchen deliveries, such as correct product storage, organizing, and rotation. ​
- Arrives on time, properly groomed, dressed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends all needed trainings and meetings.
- Provides great customer service, meets clients’ requirements in a fast and effective manner, and models persuasive selling methods; promptly and courteously answers phones and pages.
- Increases sales potential by following effective and proper methods for product preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.
- Follows and complies with established processes, such as weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices, or assures compliance.
- Maintains or guarantees the maintenance of a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in compliance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Performs opening, middle, and closing chores as assigned; assures sign and pricing accuracy. Reports safety dangers and infractions as soon as possible.
- Other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
Job RequirementsÂ
- There is no prior retail experience required.
- Physical Requirements; Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing/walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour work day.
- Hand use includes single grabbing, delicate manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work necessitates the following movements: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
- Temperatures: 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Capability to work in both rainy and dry circumstances.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to utilize tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy gear.
- Ladders may be needed.
